Tucker Carlson Compares Donald Trump to Father Giving ‘Vigorous Spanking’

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson compared Donald Trump’s potential return to the White House to a father about to give a “vigorous spanking” to a naughty child on Wednesday.
Speaking to a Turning Point USA event in Duluth, Georgia, Carlson said: “There has to be a point at which Dad comes home. Yeah, that’s right. Dad comes home. And he’s pissed. Dad is pissed.
“He’s not vengeful. He loves his children. Disobedient as they may be, he loves them, because they’re his children. They live in his house. But he’s very disappointed in their behavior. And he’s going to have to let them know.”
He added: “When Dad gets home, you know what he says? ‘You’ve been a bad girl. You’ve been a bad little girl, and you’re getting a vigorous spanking right now. And no, it’s not going to hurt me more than it hurts you. No, it’s not. I’m not going to lie. It’s going to hurt you a lot more than it hurts me. And you earned this.'”
A major theme of Trump’s campaign has been that, if elected, he would deliver retribution against his political enemies.
In March 2023, Trump said in a speech: “In 2016, I declared, I am your voice. Today, I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution.”
The former president claims that the criminal cases he is facing, and the one he was convicted for in May, are politically motivated, despite there being no evidence of this. He also continues to claim, without evidence, that he won the 2020 election and that Joe Biden stole it from him with widespread voter fraud.
In September he wrote on his social network, Truth Social: “WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again.”
In his speech, Carlson also took aim at Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee.
“None of the normal people are supporting the Democratic machine,” Carlson said. “Tim Walz is supporting the Democratic machine. A man you would never allow to babysit your own children.”
After Carlson spoke at Wednesday’s event in Duluth, Trump delivered a speech where he continued to attack his opponent Vice President Kamala Harris. When he came on stage, the crowd chanted: “Daddy’s home.”
“You’re the worst ever. There’s never been anybody like you,” he said of Harris.
“You can’t put two sentences together. The world is laughing at us because of you,” he said. “She’s not a smart person. She’s a low IQ individual.”

The rally comes just days after growing concerns among Trump’s critics that his talk of retribution and crackdowns on political enemies is evidence of his authoritarian nature.
On Tuesday, The Atlantic published an article in which Trump’s former chief of staff John Kelly, a retired general, publicly denounced Trump as a “fascist” and “dictatorial leader” who expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler’s generals and praised “the good things” Hitler did. Trump has denied these allegations.
